My First Glimpse
My adventure has officially begun. I survived my 3 hour flight to Atlanta and my 15 hour flight to South Africa. I got all of my luggage with ease and met up with Hannes. He is an extremely nice man and has a beautiful home, lodge, and game reserve. He also has a very nice family. His wife's name is Mandi and she runs the lodge associated with the reserve, and he has 2 children. Natalie is 5 I believe and Nathan is 3, both of them are very energetic and nice kids. I only managed to get about 5 and a half hours of sleep last night, but ive hears that is pretty good for the type of jet leg I should be experiencing. Also there is a 7 hour time difference from here to the US if anyone was wondering. So, if it is noon in the US it is 7 pm here. Today was a pretty laid back day other than bringing in a shipment of 4 sable to the reserve. I got my first opportunity using the video camera and filmed the sable being releases. It was a very cool experience. I also got to go for several rides around the reserve and I got to see a lot of the plains game animals!

So exciting Jordan! I have a ton of questions about the whole set up of the game reserve and cannot wait to hear all about it. I bet your flight was really long - I am glad you are settling in and things are going well. Mandi has emailed me several times and seems really nice. I hope you are having a great week. I miss you already! :)
